DEVENT Inc. is pleased to announce that Rick Ford has been promoted to Manager of Online Products.
Rick has been with DEVNET since 2012, when he joined the company as a developer for wEdge™. He has worked as a designer for new clients and managed wEdge™ development over the last two years.
wEdge™ is DEVNET’s flagship web application for providing property tax and appraisal information to public and county users. wEdge™ provides a powerful yet easy-to-use interface for searching and viewing all properties and personal property accounts within a county. With minimal effort, users can create powerful queries, browse matching properties, see a map of result properties, and view details about each property.
Prior to joining DEVNET, Rick worked at the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida in Gainesville, which serves six counties, as a software developer creating information sharing and access tools for the judiciary.
Rick also worked with the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he had numerous responsibilities that included managing the computer labs, providing IT support to the Center for Instructional Technology & Teaching (CITT), and carrying out software and website development for the College of Health & Human Performance, including helping faculty with instructional design and online data collection projects.
As the Manager of Online Products, Rick intends to focus his team on updating the underlying infrastructure that powers DEVNET’s wEdge™ Suite and create a contemporary user interface with improved usability and features for new and existing clients. The Online Products team also is focused on developing a new wEdge™ Recorder product.
