The Oakland County, Michigan, Treasurer’s Office has chosen DEVNET’s Tax Management System to help carry out the Treasurer’s responsibilities as the custodian of all county funds and the collector and distributor of all revenues. Oakland County becomes DEVNET’s first customer in the state of Michigan.
“With the launch of the Edge® Tax Management system, Oakland County will be able to significantly increase efficiency by effectively identifying and managing outstanding tax obligations and creating dynamic processes that will ultimately reinstate these properties back to the tax rolls,” said DEVNET President Michael Gentry.
DEVNET’s Billing and Collection solution performs all billing, collection, distribution, delinquent taxes, and maintenance processes pertaining to both real and personal property. As a self-contained module, the tax collection process uses certified values from the Assessment Administration division to perform the tax calculation following state requirements and includes balancing procedures for each step of the process.
The property tax management system is part of an ongoing effort to use innovative technology in the Oakland County Treasurer’s Office to increase efficiency and better serve taxpayers.
“We’re constantly seeking out new technology and partnerships that help us save money and provide the best possible service for taxpayers,” said Oakland County Treasurer Andy E. Meisner.
The Oakland County Treasurer’s Office disburses local, state, and federal revenues on a timely basis to ensure the efficient administration of county government. These disbursements include paychecks for county employees, funding for road projects, and other county functions.
